Official Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Please review how PocketCrayon features, subscriptions, artwork data, and iCloud sync work before using the app.

Last updated: October 13, 2026

1. Acceptance and parent responsibility

By using PocketCrayon, you agree to these terms. PocketCrayon is primarily for children ages 2–7; parents or caregivers are responsible for subscriptions, importing, the parent gate, support/feedback, iCloud, and data management.

If you use the app for a child, you confirm that you may make these settings and decisions on the child’s behalf. Child mode provides drawing and, when enabled by a parent, single-page export.

2. License and content rights

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use PocketCrayon on an iPhone/iPad that you own or control. PocketCrayon’s software, built-in books, brand, and other built-in content remain owned by PocketCrayon or its licensors.

You retain rights you already have in imported material and your own drawings. You must have permission to use every image, PDF, worksheet, learning material, or other content you import, and must not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.

PocketCrayon processes content you select on your device to provide the feature. These terms do not grant PocketCrayon a right to use your original photos or artwork for advertising, training, or public display beyond what is necessary to provide the product.

3. Free features and subscriptions

Without a subscription, you can use the default first book and, subject to the app’s features, save, continue drawing, and export single-page artwork. Additional built-in coloring books, image/PDF import, line-art generation, and editing custom artwork require an active subscription.

The MVP offers monthly and annual subscriptions and does not offer Apple Family Sharing. The purchase sheet will show the price, duration, benefits, and any trial before purchase. Whether a trial is offered and its duration are whatever the purchase sheet shows at that time.

Apple App Store and StoreKit sell, charge for, and confirm active subscription access. Cancelling auto-renewal does not normally end a paid period immediately; access generally continues until that period ends.

4. Expiration and restore purchases

After a subscription expires, existing custom books and pages remain viewable and exportable as single pages but cannot be edited or drawn on. If an already-open drawing session is still active when access expires, that session may be completed. New image/PDF imports, line-art generation, and additional built-in coloring books are unavailable. The default first book remains editable.

If you resubscribe, existing custom artwork that still exists may become editable again. Resubscription does not guarantee recovery of deleted, missing, or corrupted artwork.

Use Apple Account subscription management to cancel or manage the subscription. If a purchase entitlement does not appear, use Restore Purchases in the parent area. Apple handles refunds under its policies; PocketCrayon does not promise that a refund request will be approved.

5. Import and on-device processing

Before importing, you must create or select the destination book. Each operation selects one file; a normal image creates one page/template, and the MVP currently processes only page 1 of a PDF.

Import and line-art generation are planned to happen entirely on your iPhone/iPad. The release plan does not retain original photos, while necessary derived line art, page assets, and the latest drawing state may remain. Supported formats and actual processing results are based on what the app shows and can process at the time.

6. iCloud and sync conflicts

iCloud is an optional Apple service. The MVP supports only iPhone/iPad devices using the same Apple Account and does not support sharing, family collaboration, or invitations between different Apple Accounts.

When two devices edit the same page, the app uses the edit-operation timestamp and a fixed tie-breaker to select a winner. The later version replaces the earlier version; strokes are not merged, and there is no user-visible history or restore flow.

A later offline edit may win after reconnection, including over an earlier deletion. This is the sync conflict rule, not a trash or user restore feature. Local use should remain available when iCloud is disabled, unavailable, full, or interrupted, but sync is not guaranteed.

7. Deletion and export

A parent can delete books or artwork from the parent area, sometimes after a second confirmation. Under the sync rules, deletion may affect the local copy, iCloud data, and other devices using the same Apple Account. The MVP has no trash or restore flow.

Export is limited to saving the current single-page artwork directly to Photos. In-app deletion does not delete a copy already saved to Photos. Apple controls Photos, iCloud, and device availability.

8. Support and feedback

Support and feature feedback are placed in the parent area or behind the parent gate and are sent only after a parent confirms in the device Email app. The MVP has no live chat, PocketCrayon support backend, ticket database, or automatic email sending.

Messages may use a `[Support]` or `[Suggestion/Request]` subject prefix and editable app/build version, iOS version, device model, and language fields. Do not send unnecessary child names, photos, artwork, Apple Account details, or location information.

9. Third-party services and limitations

PocketCrayon relies on Apple App Store, StoreKit, Photos, Files, Camera, iCloud/CloudKit, Face ID/Touch ID. These services operate under their own terms and availability.

PocketCrayon does not promise uninterrupted service, no errors, that every device can process every file, or that iCloud will always sync successfully. If a service, permission, device capacity, or file processing fails, follow the app’s retry or local-use guidance.

10. Liability and statutory rights

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, PocketCrayon is not responsible for indirect losses arising from use or inability to use the app, third-party services, sync delays, data loss, or device problems. This does not limit consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or liability that cannot legally be limited.

You should keep appropriate copies of important artwork, such as retaining the Photos copy after confirming a successful export.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms when the product, services, or law changes. The new date will appear on this page. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the affected features.

12. App Store license agreement

For the MVP, PocketCrayon will not submit a custom EULA in App Store Connect. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement therefore applies to the App Store license. This PocketCrayon Terms of Use page is supplemental product terms describing subscriptions, imports, artwork, sync, and support; if it conflicts with Apple’s terms or applicable law, applicable law and Apple’s terms control.
