Privacy Policy

A clear and transparent explanation of how PocketCrayon protects your family’s privacy on-device, through Apple services, and through selected third-party services.

!

This is PocketCrayon’s official Privacy Policy. It explains how we handle and protect information about you and your child. We will update this page and its date when the product, services, or applicable law changes.

1. Scope

This policy explains how PocketCrayon handles information in its iPhone/iPad app and website. PocketCrayon is designed for children; parents or caregivers handle subscriptions, settings, support, and data management.

“We” means Chiate Te Ni. “You” means the person using the app or the parent/caregiver using it for a child.

2. Artwork and imported content

PocketCrayon may process images or PDFs that you actively select on your device, together with the resulting line art, book/page assets, latest drawing state, and necessary artwork metadata.

PocketCrayon does not retain imported original photos. The original may remain in your own Photos library; PocketCrayon will not delete it. To process it again, you must select it again from Photos or Files.

PocketCrayon does not write an original photo into long-term storage or an iCloud payload when an import is cancelled, fails, or is interrupted.

  • No automatic camera capture.
  • Image/PDF processing and line-art generation happen on your iPhone/iPad; if you use iOS Image Playground or another system-provided external generation service, the selected photo or prompt is handled under Apple’s and the service’s terms.
  • PocketCrayon does not upload original photos to a PocketCrayon-owned server.

3. Device permissions

The app requests permissions only when you use the related feature. Photos is used to select images and save exported single-page artwork; Camera is used only when you actively choose the camera entry point; Files is used to select files and PDFs. Declining a permission may disable that feature but should not block the default book or local drawing.

The parent gate may use Face ID or Touch ID. Apple’s system handles biometric verification; PocketCrayon should not receive your biometric template. If biometrics are unavailable, the app may offer a numeric keypad math challenge.

5. Subscriptions, analytics, diagnostics, and third-party services

Apple App Store and StoreKit handle subscription transactions, product prices, periods, introductory-offer eligibility, and subscription entitlements. PocketCrayon does not operate its own payment system; the subscription flow does not send a child’s name, email, photos, artwork, Apple Account, or precise location to third-party analytics or subscription services.

Analytics calls are routed to a disabled no-op provider, so analytics events and user identifiers are not logged, stored, or transmitted. The app fetches a static update configuration file over HTTPS from Cloudflare hosting; that request retrieves configuration and does not upload analytics events.

PocketCrayon does not display third-party ads or directly receive Apple payment details. Prices, periods, trial availability, renewal, and cancellation are shown in the App Store purchase sheet and Apple’s subscription management tools.

6. Support and feedback

Support and feature feedback are available from the parent area or behind the parent gate. Tapping an entry opens the device’s Email app; the MVP does not send email automatically and does not include live chat, a ticketing system, or a support backend.

If you send the email, your email address, message, and any attachments you add are sent by your mail service to the support mailbox. The app may prefill a category, app/build version, iOS version, device model, and language, but should not automatically attach original photos, children’s artwork, a child’s name, location, Apple Account, or a persistent identifier.

The support mailbox receives and stores messages and attachments through the mail service. Contact the support email below to ask about, correct, or request deletion of support data.

7. Sharing, retention, and deletion

Unless you actively use Apple Photos, iCloud, Email, or iOS Image Playground/an external generation service, PocketCrayon does not send original photos to a PocketCrayon-owned server. Necessary derived artwork may remain on the device and may sync when you enable iCloud; Image Playground or an external generation service handles content under Apple’s and the selected service’s terms.

You can delete books or artwork in the parent area. Under the product rules, deletion may affect the local copy, iCloud data, and the same Apple Account’s other devices. The app has no trash or user-visible restore flow. A copy already exported to Photos is not deleted by in-app deletion.

If another device makes a later offline edit, that version may win after reconnection under the sync rules. That is a conflict outcome, not a PocketCrayon restore feature.

8. Children’s privacy

PocketCrayon is designed for children, while parents or caregivers handle importing, subscriptions, support, and data management. Child mode does not expose support/feedback, external links, importing, subscriptions, or data-management controls.

Please do not include unnecessary child names, contact details, locations, or sensitive information in support messages or imported content. PocketCrayon maintains its Apple App Privacy disclosures based on the actual data flows, App Store category, and applicable children’s privacy requirements.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You can decline Photos, Camera, Files, or iCloud access. The related feature may then be unavailable, but the local default book and local drawing should remain available. You may also stop using iCloud; PocketCrayon keeps local artwork and stops later sync.

To ask about, correct, or request deletion of support data controlled by PocketCrayon, contact the support email below. For in-app artwork, use the parent-area deletion flow. Apple-managed iCloud and transaction data may require Apple’s own account or service tools.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the product, services, or law changes. The new date will appear on this page.
